Location of the project

The implementation of the Dhow is located at the mouth of the river Bouregreg, facing the cliff of the Kasbah Oudayas (known tourist site). This strategic position allows excellent visibility, enhanced by the recent urban project Rabat-Sale, which opens up between the two cities facing each other and separated by the river. The presence of the ship involved in the project of urban development of the marina in Rabat-Sale (Norman Foster has signed the operation of housing / shops Bab el bar and the great theater project in Rabat by Zaha Hadid). The presence of the boat involved in this dynamic the interaction between Rabat and Sale, by integration and presence in perfect harmony with the site. The citizens of Salé can come up Dhow  via tipical bark or via the new bridge just finished.

THE RED LINE OF THE PROJECT

The generator concept was to intervene with contemporary simplicity and to highlight the boat that is identifiable to a work of art. Contemporary architecture allows this proposed development with the use of a strong contrast between the traditional wooden dhow and the intervention of contemporary design. The aim is to highlight the boat's structure and its natural beauty to create a unique atmosphere in magical place. The facade of the restaurant and the upper terrace was designed to bring the landscape inside the place, the shape of the windows is part of the typology of the boat while revisiting the archetype of dhows.
